Acclimatization - A process of adaption of an introduced species and their offspring in a new environment.
Alien species - In a specific ecosystem, any species of any organism that is not native to that ecosystem.
Biological diversity (biodiversity) - The number and variety of of species that are found within a specified geographic region.
Competitor - A species that may compete with another species for the same resources such as food, water or space.
Cryptogeneic species - A species whose origins are unknown.
Ecosystem - A biological community of interacting organisms and their environment.
Introduced species - Species that are nonnative to the area where it is considered introduced and instead has been accidentally or forcefully transported to the new location by human activities.
Invasion - An infestation of invasive species.
Invasive species - An alien (nonnative, exotic, introduced) species whose introduction into the new ecosystem has or will cause harm.
Native Species - Species that are naturally living and reproducing in the ecosystem that it is historically from.
Overpopulation - having a population so massive as to cause environmental deterioration, an impaired quality of life, or a population crash.
Species - A group of organisms that differ from all other groups of organisms and that are capable of breeding and producing fertile offspring.
Terrestrial species - Organisms living primarily on land.
